DESIGN INTENT
What happens when color is experienced as an environment rather than simply seen?
This project began with a simple question: How does pink feel? Through an immersive enclosure of light, sound, projection, and materiality, the installation explored pink as an atmosphere shaped by memory, culture, identity, and personal association. Rather than prescribing meaning, the space invited visitors to construct their own emotional relationship with color.
DEVELOPMENT
The experience was designed to be entered, felt, and interpreted.
The installation combined projection mapping, sound, and carefully curated shades of pink within an enclosed environment to create a layered sensory experience. By removing explicit instructions and allowing for open interpretation, the project encouraged visitors to engage with pink through emotion, perception, and lived experience.
RESOLUTION
No two experiences of pink were ever quite the same.
As visitors moved through the space, it became clear that pink is not universally understood- it is remembered, interpreted, and felt differently by each person. 'Take the Pink Plunge' ultimately shifted the conversation from what pink looks like to what pink feels like, transforming color from something observed into something inhabited.
